The grape harvest in our country has a thousand-year history and Pachino, the city of wine, certainly cannot fail to enhance this local tradition! The third edition of the Harvest Festival, organized by the Vivi Vinum association, will take place from September 20 to September 22. The nerve center of the event will be Piazza Pietro Nenni, overlooking the railways of the historic Noto-Pachino line, which has been disused since 1986.
The grape harvest festival will give spectators the opportunity to dive into the past and relive the magic of ancient traditions, such as pressing. In fact, you will be able to witness the pressing with the folkloric dances of women in traditional clothes on the grapes harvested in the Pachino districts.
There is great anticipation and excitement for the race of the barrels made available by the cellars for the Palio, which will see multiple teams competing. Additionally, there will be the La Vendemmia nel piatto cooking competition, in which the competitors will compete with grape-based dishes.
There will also be traditional dances and games.
